10 Expectations To Keep In Mind With Our Virtual Orthodontic Consultations And Appointments

Virtual orthodontic appointments are relatively new, so here are some considerations regarding this treatment option!

virtual appointments are helping our new and existing patients during the pandemic

Our virtual orthodontic appointments are one of the many ways in which our offices are developing our treatment processes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’re more than confident that many of our patients will appreciate this innovative treatment method.

Although our Dublin and Gahanna offices are slowly but surely coming back to in-person treatment routines, we fully understand how many of our patients aren’t quite ready to go back to normal orthodontic treatment. Our virtual orthodontic consultations and appointments are for both new and ongoing patient treatments, and here are 10 expectations you should keep in mind regarding going virtual with your orthodontic treatment!

1. You Can Still Make Sure Your Consultation/Appointment Coincides With Your Schedule

Just like with traditional orthodontic appointments, our virtual appointments allow patients to get in touch with our team when it’s most convenient within their personal schedules. In terms of a virtual consultation, you can simply go through the form and send us pictures at any time. Our team will then respond as quickly as we can and provide you with the information you need.

These consultations are also for our current patients who are experiencing any particular issues with their appliances, or would like to speak with our specialists about any aspect of their treatment. We understand how there are many things that may not necessitate an in-person visit to our offices, and we’re more than happy to accommodate our patients virtually during these unprecedented times.

2. Virtual Consultations Aren’t Too Long

We understand how many in-person consultations and appointments can take a decent amount of time, so we’ve made sure that our virtual appointments provide each patient with an adequate amount of one-on-one time with Dr. Karpac and our specialists while remaining as efficient as possible.

Our virtual appointments and consultations will always be comprehensive and personalized, and you won’t have to worry about sitting in a waiting room!

3. We’ll Be Sure To Provide Treatment Tips And Options

No matter if you or your loved one is interested in traditional braces or Line-M-Up™, our virtual appointments will include a close examination of all photos/info and provide you with treatment options and tips. If you’re going through an initial consultation, we’ll be able to help you determine what your best options are; and if you’re a current patient we’ll be able to let you know how your progress is going and if an in-person appointment is necessary or not to support whatever you’re experiencing.

4. Virtual Appointments/Consultations Are Quick And Painless

These consultations and appointments won’t be painful, and this is mainly because you’ll be required to just take certain pictures of your mouth. You may need the assistance of a family member or friend to help you get the right angles for these pictures of your teeth and face, but in general you’ll never experience any type of pain while undergoing this process.

We’ve also included a guide to help our virtual patients when it comes to taking these pictures, so you can be more rest assured that you’re doing everything properly and getting us the images we need to make assessments and provide guidance!

5. We’ll Provide Reminders For You Consults/Appointments and Follow-Ups

When you undergo a virtual consultation or appointment, our team will be sure to remind you of any potential additional appointments or follow-ups that’ll be necessary, so you’ll be sure no to miss out on anything. This type of reminder will be similar to in-person appointments in that you’ll receive an email or text within 24 hours in advance.

These reminders will provide you with the information you’ll need to meet up with us via video chat, and if you need to reschedule for any reasons it’s no problem at all! We’ll be sure to adjust your consultation/appointment time to fit your ever-changing schedule!

6. Providing Us With Important Information

It’s normal for new and current patients to need to update their information with us when necessary, and we’ll always be coinciding with HIPAA guidelines when it comes to confidential and protected information via our virtual appointments.

We take our patients’ information very seriously, so you can be rest assured that your information will never be compromised or leaked even when you’re going virtual with your treatment and consultations. This includes your insurance provider data, contact information and much more.

7. Knowing That Consultations Are Just The Beginning Of Your Treatment

All of our new patients will understand that a virtual orthodontic consultation will inevitably be the initial stages towards beginning treatment with Dr. Karpac and our team. We are always confident in each and every one of our patients to follow the treatment process correctly and end up being successful with beautiful, improved smiles and oral health.

Correcting our patients’ smiles and alignment is truly what we live for, and nothing is more rewarding than getting our patients on the right track towards an improved, long-term oral health!

8. You’ll Still Be Able To Meet Our Team

Whether it’s via virtual consultations or appointments, you’ll still be in direct contact with our team. We always like getting to know our new patients and keeping in touch with our current patients on a more personal level, so we’ll be sure to have direct conversations with you to be as efficient and comprehensive as possible.

Our friendly, experienced team of specialists will also always be able to answer any questions or concerns you have within these virtual appointments.

9. We’re Always Very Responsive

It’s totally normal for patients to have questions or concerns during and after business hours, so we’ve made sure to coordinate our entire team around answering patient concerns and questions both on the phone and online. Our team will always be more than happy to answer your questions and address any concerns you’re experiencing.

Even if you experience an issue or submit an important question after business hours, we’ll be sure to respond as quickly as possible and typically within a few hours!

10. Virtual Consultations Are Free

The last thing you should know when it comes to virtual consultations is that they’re absolutely free of charge! We’re always accepting new patients into our family and we want to ensure that we’re doing our own due diligence towards building trusting relationships with our new patients.

We understand that trust within your orthodontic treatment is one of the most important things that money cannot buy, and we’ll be sure to let you know which treatment options work best for you and your efforts towards an improved smile!
