Line-M-Up™ is a great treatment option for adult and teen patients, but it’s not necessarily for everyone!
Dr. James Karpac has helped perfect countless smiles with his patented invisible aligner technology called Line-M-Up™, which is a cutting-edge alternative to other similar types of orthodontic aligners. What’s revolutionary about Line-M-Up™ is that it helps invisible aligner patients of all ages to receive orthodontic treatment without traditional braces, and patients obtain their optimal results incredibly efficiently!
But it’s important to remember that orthodontics is never a one-size-fits-all healthcare treatment, and some people may be better off with traditional braces as compared to invisible aligners.
Below we’ll be going over the pros and cons of Line-M-Up™ for adult and teen patients, and why invisible aligners could be right for you or your child!
Common Advantages of Line-M-Up™ Invisible Aligners
Our patients tend to love Line-M-Up™ as a more subtle alternative to traditional braces, and here some of the advantages that our adult and teen patients enjoy:
- Our state-of-the-art computer software helps us thoroughly plan out every patient’s Line-M-Up™ treatment process with incredible precision. This helps Dr. Karpac to develop real-time adjustments based upon a patient’s 3D models, which goes a long way to customize treatment plans for everyone’s unique needs.
- Each set of aligner trays is usually worn for around 2-3 weeks at a time, but the frequency of aligner tray usage can sometimes be carefully adjusted based upon Dr. Karpac’s instructions. Patients love knowing how many aligners they’ll need and how long the treatment process will typically take, because each set of aligners becomes a milestone achievement.
- Line-M-Up™ aligners are made from very flexible, smooth plastic. Our patients have repeatedly reported that the aligners are very comfortable, and Line-M-Up™ patients love how they don’t have to worry about lip or cheek irritation that can sometimes happen when traditional braces patients experience sports injuries.
- Because Line-M-Up™ aligners are removable, they’re also very convenient. Patients will have to take them out for flossing and brushing, so oral hygiene routines are the exact same as prior to the treatment process. And because you won’t wear your aligners while eating, you also won’t have any food restrictions!
- A lot of adult and teen patients love the invisible aesthetics of Line-M-Up™ aligners, because they’re barely noticeable at all. This is great for adults continuing on with their professional lives, and it’s also great for teens who may feel a bit self-conscious about orthodontic hardware.
- Adjustments are largely unnecessary during Line-M-Up™ treatment, because you’ll simply move on to your next set of aligner trays. You’ll still need to come into one of our offices to see Dr. Karpac for checkup appointments to make sure everything is progressing as it’s supposed to, but these appointments are much less intensive as compared to braces adjustments.
- Many Line-M-Up™ patients also accompany their aligners with teeth whitening toothpastes and treatments, which isn’t typically recommended for braces patients.
Common Disadvantages of Line-M-Up™
Although there aren’t too many disadvantages associated with Line-M-Up™, there are a few concerns that prospective patients should be aware of. Some of these concerns include the following:
- Line-M-Up™ can support all sorts of orthodontic needs, but it’s typically better for patients with mild to moderate malocclusions and bite abnormalities.
- For optimal results, Line-M-Up™ patients must wear their aligners for at least 22 hours each day. This essentially means that you’ll need to keep them in whenever you’re not eating or brushing your teeth (which can sometimes be difficult for teens).
- Invisible aligners can be easy to lose when not stored properly in their case.
