8 Things You Should Know Before Getting Line-M-Up™

Line-M-Up™ is a revolutionary type of invisible aligner system from JK Orthodontics!

invisible aligners and Line-M-Up are helping patients

If you or your teen is thinking about getting Line-M-Up™, then you’re definitely on the right track towards obtaining a cutting-edge type of invisible aligner orthodontic treatment!

The entire JK Orthodontics team understands just how effective and popular Line-M-Up™ is for all of our patients from throughout the Columbus Metro Area, and we understand how the results of this orthodontic treatment speak for themselves!

But we also know how important it is for orthodontic patients and parents to check off all the right boxes before making these types of investment decisions, so here are 8 considerations you should know before getting Line-M-Up™ to help you make an informed decision about obtaining our revolutionary invisible aligner treatment:

1. Don’t Consider Your Orthodontic Issues Too Severe For Line-M-Up™

It’s common for people to talk about getting invisible aligners with their friends and family prior to reaching out to our team, and many patients will come to us thinking that their misalignment or malocclusions are too severe to be treated through invisible aligners and will require traditional braces.

The important thing here is to simply not jump to any conclusions prior to actually speaking with us during your initial consultation, because we are actually much more likely to accept your unique situation through our invisible aligner technology as compared to other orthodontists throughout the industry!

You can also go online and do a “virtual appointment” for Dr. Karpac to give you an idea if Line-M-Up™ is right for you!!

2. Line-M-Up™ Is An Efficient And Quick Orthodontic Treatment

A lot of orthodontic patients and parents think that the differences between traditional braces and Line-M-Up™ are basically within aesthetics.

Although a lot of people really enjoy the discreet nature of invisible aligners while straightening their smiles and properly realigning their jaws, it’s also important to understand that Line-M-Up™ treatment tends to be really efficient!

Most Line-M-Up™ patients will begin to see results within about 2 months, and treatment times tend to be considerably shorter as compared to traditional braces.

3. You Will Likely Feel Like Your Teeth Are Loose

It’s pretty common for Line-M-Up™ patients to say that their teeth feel a little loose when they take out their aligners to eat, drink, clean, etc.

It’s important for patients to know that this is absolutely normal, because your teeth are supposed to be loosened so that they can slowly but surely shift into their new, proper positioning.

4. Line-M-Up™ Is Always 100% Customized

What’s great about Line-M-Up™ as compared to other mail-in invisible aligners is that you can be completely rest assured that your aligners are 100% tailored to you and your mouth.

We’ll scan your mouth via our state-of-the-art scanner, and then our team will be there through every step of the process as we develop your comprehensive series of aligners that you’ll interchange about every 2-4 weeks.

5. Eating And Drinking With Line-M-Up™ Is Timely

Your Line-M-Up™ aligners are supposed to stay in your mouth for at least 22 hours each and every day, so this means that your eating and drinking habits will have to fit within this 2-hour window.

This subsequently means that you’ll need to be more cognizant about how much time you’re spending while sipping on a morning cup of coffee or tea, or how long you’re going with your aligners out during dinnertime.

Some patients say they miss having more leisure time while eating and drinking, while countless invisible aligner patients say they love how their treatment helps them cut down on snacking!

6. Cleaning Your Aligners Properly Will Be VERY Important

The first thing Line-M-Up™ patients should know about cleaning their aligners is that you should NOT use toothpaste! Toothpaste actually contains some abrasive substances that can lead to future buildup, so the best thing you should do is utilize a mild aligner cleanser or Dawn dishwashing soap.

Dr. Karpac and our team will always help you when it comes to finding the right aligner cleanser for you or your child!

7. You’re Going To Need Multiple Toothbrushes

Although it may seem somewhat redundant in us reminding you how important it is to brush your teeth, it’s actually an incredibly important part of the Line-M-Up™ treatment process.

You’re going to need to properly floss and brush your teeth after every snack and meal, and you’ll also need to thoroughly cleanse your aligner at these times as well. This means it’ll be important for every Line-M-Up™ patient to use what we put in your Line-M-Up™ box when we start your treatment.

Undergoing invisible aligner treatment is a very exciting time as you’ll obtain great results while remaining more discreet as compared to braces, but this treatment process will require a lot of daily responsibility on behalf of the patient.

8. You’re Still Going To Need A Retainer

Once a patient has successfully finished their Line-M-Up™ treatment, it doesn’t mean that they’re completely done. Just like all other orthodontic patients, Line-M-Up™ patients are going to be required to wear a retainer on a daily basis. Sometimes we use the last aligner as your retainer and sometimes we make another set out of a different type of plastic.

Wearing your retainer, and being on the lookout for common retainer replacement warning signs, will always go a very long way in ensuring the long-term quality of your treatment results!
